Villages II Apartment Complex, located in the Liberty City neighborhood area of Miami provides housing for 120 families and is designed to provide a quality living option for Miami’s diverse workforce, and low-income community. The design composition wraps around the northeast corner of the site and works to transitions as a new gateway face between the existing educational site to the northwest and the existing low scale residential neighborhood to the east. The project design incorporates varied amenity spaces serving to enhance multi-family lifestyle living including a Gym, Play Room, Community Room, Computer Room, secure Common Storage lockers and outdoor recreations areas. The use of multiple sized balconies creates variety and aesthetic interest of the west and north elevations of the project, while at the same time serving as shading devices for energy efficiency. The project is designed to achieve a Silver energy certification rating under the National Green Building Standard system.
