The Ocean Sound is a 20 story tower mixed-use development with 285,000 square feet of space for Renzi Development. The project, which includes underground parking, commercial spaces and 60 luxury residential units, is located on a narrow strip of ocean front property (slightly less than an acre) along Collins Avenue and 67th Street, in Miami Beach, Florida. The design of the complex provides exclusive residences restricted to four units per floor, not to mention the breath-taking views. The view are one: directly facing the ocean and two: of the unique Miami Beach skyline.

The building’s design is derived from its clean, pure, oval geometry resulting in a bold yet elegant look. The geometry is “framed” by a structural, box frame consisting of four large columns, finished in white pre-finish Marlite stucco. This box serves as an anchor for the sweeping lines of the tower, while giving character to the facade. The subtly curved facade, while rising a total of 19 stories, softens the mass of the building as it is displayed towards the city’s harsh urban fabric. The base of the building contains secure parking levels and is enclosed within clean concrete walls, highlighted by an artful composition of horizontal openings. A gentle, but generous, entrance drive serves as the entry to the complex’s grand, lush four story atrium lobby.

The complex contains two separate pool decks. One: alinear lap pool atop the secure four story parking garage. Two: an oval pond-shaped pool at ground level with picturesque views towards the beach. Some aspects of the roof top will remain open and trellised as to provide areas for sunbathing.
