This project has a clear plan, providing a strong spatial order, and developed the elevations to precisely express the differing functions within.  Its simple volumes and colored planes, constructed of concrete block faced with stucco, makes a powerful play of shadows in the tropical sun.  The Allapattah Housing for the Elderly is the result of a vision and commitment to our “old friends” in a way that preserves the dignity and independence due our senior adults.
