This three story office building on busy US 1 in Coconut Grove, Florida has an audience of 100,000 commuters a day…all moving at high speeds on one side and on the opposite side, a quiet residential street of 1 and 2 story houses.  These two opposing contexts, along with the difficult wedge shaped lot, acted as the main sources of creative tensions resulting in this “tropical” Flatiron Building.
