Casa Gator, built in Gainesville, Florida achieves the most laconic distillation of our elemental approach to design. Treading lightly through a heavily wooded site, the bedrooms are lifted on steel columns to float among the tree branches. Each bedroom is exposed on all four sides, top and bottom to the subtropical climate, allowing maximum through-ventilation and modulation of sunlight, while using standardized, off-the-shelf components, as were Wright’s Usonian Houses.
